Mornington is a short run down the Nepean Highway from my base in Frankston, so I'm regularly working in the area. Whether it's a family home, a unit near Main Street or a weekender, the most common call I get is the same: the hot water isn't hot any more. What I found
The old Technika 26 gas continuous flow unit was no longer heating the water properly and had reached the end of its life.
What I did
Came out promptly to diagnose the problem, then within a few days removed the old unit and installed a new Rinnai B26 continuous flow hot water system in the same spot on the wall, connecting to the existing gas and water lines. Tested it, and the household was back up and running with proper hot water.

Sometimes. On older units, though, it's often a sign the unit is near the end of its life. I'll check it and give you a straight answer on repair or replacement.
Can a new unit go in the same spot as the old one?
Usually, yes. Most modern continuous flow units fit the same position and connections, which keeps the job quick and tidy.
